About the Passionate Plate

The Passionate Plate: Those who know me best will confirm I have an inclination to be passionate about everything. Whatever I love, care about, or am interested in, I love, care about, and am interested in with all that I am. I hold nothing back, not in my heart and not with my energy. While I’ll admit having passion about everything can get a little exhausting at times it also increases the color dial on life and makes even the most ordinary things and events worth noting. The Passionate Plate is where I’ll note it all, posting about everything in life I’m passionate about and because that covers such a wide range which accounts for the word play around the word savoring.

Savoring Life is for those posts dedicated to food and good health from every angle. Like other foodie blogs I’ll share reviews and photos of meals eaten out in restaurants and at our table at home, the never-ending quest for the best of the season at the nearby farmer’s market, and favorite and failed recipes from the decadently buttery to the low-fat and lean. Aaaaaand because I’m a foodie who spent years loving food in ample servings as frequently as possible I’ll be sharing my weight-loss story; what it was like to be morbidly obese in a world that glorifies thin, the diets and extremes to which I went to lose weight and the journey to at last shed 170 pounds and having lost the weight, to record what it’s like to learn how to maintain a healthy weight, being as forthcoming about the successes as about the mistakes that will inevitably be made along the way. I’ll post on body image issues, fitness gadgets and healthy low-cal snacks that keep the foodie in me satisfied until the next meal.

Savouring Life is for those all those blog posts when I ramble on about our life as a household of two women and two cats; our travels, our interests, and all the ordinary and extraordinary happenings that are part of our daily lives.

Saviouring Life is for all those times when I blog about faith and spirituality, my bumpy journey in following Christ to the words of others that have inspired or challenged me in my relationship with God and with others.

In Small Bites: I love the trend in dining out that has moved people away from ordering their individual gargantuan plate of food to selecting a meal of small plates that offer a sampling of tastes to be shared with everyone seated around the table. What I intend to serve up here are small plates, just little bites from my life’s passions.

Enjoy. Welcome to my table!
