Day 37

Date February 12, 2009

Okay, so apparently I’m not keeping this attempt at journaling my season of fasting with any consistency. That’s no reflection on the fast itself as the only eating I’m doing these days is in my sleep. As of the last weigh in a couple days ago I’ve lost just over 26 pounds and my stats are great. Blood pressure is ideal, good cholesterol is high, bad cholesterol is low and my tricylerides were perfect-o! Needless to say I’m thrilled since I can’t begin to imagine how different the results would have been at 325 pounds.

So what am I going to do with this blog? I don’t know. Probably not much. This is such a personal journey and I can’t imagine reading about it would be of much interest to anyone and my blog stats are certainly proving that out. I think at this point I’m going to look at this as little more than a means for me to keep track of this process on a weekly update basis. If someone else stumbles onto it on a slow afternoon and takes an interest in it I’m cool with that.

Fasting for weight loss is really a drastic way to go and what I probably wouldn’t recommend for most people unless they have a massive amount of weight to loss and then it would be my hands down vote before ever having a surgeon take a knife to their innards. For most people though the standard and sure way of a balanced food plan in moderate portions and increased exercise is the ticket. Less calories in, more calories out. I was just tired of trying to find the balance between food and exercise that worked for me to reduce without feeling deprived or punished and so it’s about losing the weight rapidly and while that’s happening focusing my thoughts on how I’ll live to maintain the weight that fits my body best. More shall be revealed.

    Anita,

I’ve been checking pretty often to see how you’re doing. Believe it or not, your story and efforts are often inspiring, but almost always quite amusing. Don’t leave us hanging out here!! :)

Make that two people! Every day I look at SisterFriends and then check to see if you have posted anything here. As a person who has a few (er . . . quite a few) extra pounds, I am rooting for your success. : )

Well, make it four. I haven’t been online much lately but I always check in to see how you are doing. I don’t comment much because I feel sooooooo bad that you aren’t eating right now and most of the time it is after supper. Too much guilt to reply. But I am here rooting for you and saying dang girl I am proud!

Kelli–> Well great. Ruin the whole trinity comparison for me, would you? And don’t feel bad! It’s like someone is making me do this and honestly, as hard as it is to believe, it’s not all that hard:::she types between bites of a milkshake thick rootbeer and chocolate supplement::::: Now who feels guilty? Gosh, I’m sorry to describe my yummy drink while you’re probably just eating some yucky old cheese grits and bacon.

Cheese grits and Bacon????????? Dang girl, I know about bacon but I think I’ll leave those cheese grits alone. Sorry if I ruined your trinity comparison :( but you can keep the trinity comparison and just think of me as the court jester…but no green tights. LOL
