Day Eleven: My Life’s Blood

Date January 17, 2009

If you were to cut me I would not bleed. I would simply leak massive quantities of Sugar Free Torani Syrups. At last count we have about 20 flavors from Lime to Chocolate Macadamia Nut. Yes, it appears I might have gone a wee bit overboard on the online ordering but with five shakes a day a little variety helps. Now if they could just come up with Kobe Beef Filet Mignon or Fish Tacos with Mango-Peach Salsa we’d be talking!

D and I did a double lap around the reservoir this morning. The 2.75 mile paved walking path follows right along the edge of the water. There’s another 5 mile dirt path that runs along the rim of the hills surrounding the reservoir, fittingly called the Rim. I’ve been walking the paved trail for several years now but have never attempted the Rim not only because it’s a steep hilly climb but also because mountain lions have been spotted in the area and so people are encouraged not to walk it alone. I love our cats AnnieCat and SimbaKitty but would prefer avoiding cats of the wild variety. D walked it years ago and so we’re going to continue to get our little selves in shape with the goal of walking the Rim around March 1, depending on the weather. I’ve found that whenever I have a big goal before me such as losing 50-60 pounds, setting little goals along the way keep the motivation going. Successes, no matter how small, can be a big boost forward.

Time for shake three. I’m thinking Triple Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter. While I’m sipping please, by all means, enjoy chewing.
